SERVICES
PREVENTATIVE CARE
We are dedicated to the health of your horse and preventing common diseases by offering wellness exams, vaccinations, as well as deworming and nutritional program consults.
DENTAL EXAM/FLOAT
Proper dental care is required for the health and performance of your horse. A dental exam should be preformed annual, at minimum, to find and address small issues before they affect the health of the horse.
LAMENESS EVALUATION
We offer diagnostic and performance lameness exams. Dr. Christy is also able to perform intra-articular (joint) injections if indicated.
SPINAL MANIPULATION
(More commonly known and chiropractic adjustments.) Dr. Christy is certified by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association to adjust animals. This service is offered with a brief lameness exam to be sure that chiropractic services will benefit your horse or if a different veterinary approach may be more appropriate.
ACUPUNCTURE
Dr. Christy is trained in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine to diagnose and treat using needles and herbs. This can be used to both prevent and treat common issues and works wonderful alongside western medicine. This is the ONLY service we offer to both small and large animals.
DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING
We offer portable radiograph and ultrasound procedures in order to evaluate your horse conveniently on farm.
OPHTHALMOLOGY
Injured/tearing eyes can be incredibly painful and should always be addressed ASAP. We offer full ophtho exams and have the knowledge and the ability to treat difficult cases.
EMERGENCY CARE
We provide 24 hour emergency care, 7 days a week to our established clients.
Meet
Dr. Christy Sontag-Brasuhn
Dr. Christy was the typical little girl that was obsessed with horses from birth. Due to amazingly supportive parents, she started taking riding lessons from a very young and age and never looked back.
She attended the University of Minnesota, Morris for undergrad and graduated in 2012 with a bachelor of arts in biology and a minor in business.
She then went on to attend the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her DVM in 2016. From there, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri to perform a one year internship at an equine surgical referral center where she continued to add to her skill base. She opened up Lone Q Equine in Spring of 2019.
Her family consists of a husband and a herd of four-legged creatures (cats, dogs, goats, horses, and a very sassy miniature donkey). In her free time, Dr. Christy enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, a good cup of coffee. riding motorcycle, and spending time with her horses.
